Mayor's remarks on leak investigation "frankly astonishing" - Dee Doocey AM12.00.00pm GMT Wed 3rd Dec 2008 Commenting after the appearance of the Mayor of London and Chair of the Metropolitan Police Authority Boris Johnson and the acting Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Sir Paul Stephenson before the London Assembly this morning, Dee Doocey Liberal Democrat London Assembly spokesperson on policing and a member of the Metropolitan Police Authority said: "I find it frankly astonishing that in answer to one of the questions about the on-going inquiries in to the leaks investigation from the Home Office, Boris Johnson told the Assembly that "it is unlikely that any charges or prosecution will be brought." "It is not the job of the MPA Chair to make public his views on the outcome of an on-going investigation." said Dee Doocey. "Boris Johnson should now reflect if he is the right person to Chair the authority at this time." ENDS
