Bees being tipped into a transport hive

The bees are tipped into the transport hive

Bees may be in trouble in parts of the country but campaigner Paul D Smith was able to help a local swarm find a good home. They appeared in a tree near Paul's workplace and a quick call to Enfield Council resulted in the telephone number for local beekeeper Ronald Hunter.

Mr Hunter was quickly on the scene, removing the bees to a small transport hive so that they could be safely moved. Mr Hunter can be contacted on 07930 829856 but please be aware that he does this as a hobby and does not work for the Council. Also, he does not deal with wasp or other pests - for such problems call Enfield Council on 020 8379 1000 and ask for Pest Control.

You can meet Mr Hunter and other local beekeepers at the Enfield Town Show on September 6 & 7 in the large marquee.
