Brian Paddick has been to Southgate to express his support for maintaining a real Police presence in the area. Southgate is just one of a number of Enfield Police Stations are threatened with closure; replacement "drop in centres" have been promised.

Enfield Liberal Democrats have been campaigning to retain real Police presence in the Borough since 2002, and we are pleased to have Brian and GLA Candidate Monica Whyte's support in keeping the pressure on.

Enfield Liberal Democrats recognise that many of Enfield's Police Stations are old or simply not fit for modern policing, with its centralised control and mobile dispatch centres. However there is still a need for people to be able to have face to face conversations with a real officer who knows the local beat.

Enfield Liberal Democrats will ensure that if stations like Southgate are closed, then the replacement drop-in centres are fully staffed and opened first.
