Illegal Drivers Targeted

Five arrests for fraudulent use of tax discs, TDA (Take and Drive Away), failure to stop, resisting arrest, obstructing police and suspicion of theft, were made recently during a traffic operation on the Montague Road junction with Pegamoid Road.

Operation Grippen, as it was called, successfully utilised officers from across Edmonton.

The Environmental Crime Unit also took part in the operation and seven untaxed vehicles were removed from the roadside.

Police

Dervish Mertcan, Edmonton Lib Dem spokesperson, congratulated the Safer Neighbourhoods Team by saying: "Criminals in cars and on the road are a risk to us all and it's great to see the law-abiding majority get one over on the lawless minority."

Operation Payback in Edmonton.....

Operation Payback, where offenders on community service, work with the Police and probation service on local community projects, recently took place on Bounces Lane, Millbrook Road and Croyland Road.
