David is 52 and is married to Sandra, and David has lived in the borough of Enfield since 1964. He was educated locally at Raglan & Edmonton County Schools. He then did a fashion design course at Southgate Technical College, where he has studied Spanish.
He has been with the Liberal Democrats as an active member since 1994 and has stood as a candidate in several elections, including the last local elections in MAY 2006 and represented the local party in conferences for both National & London Regions.
He campaigned successfully to keep Southgate Police Station open to the community in 2002 so as to protect the elderly and the community in general. He also recently along with Dawn Barnes successfully campaigned on the A406 Decent Homes Campaign Bringing Homes Back Into Use, rather than the derelict state that they remained in for nearly 40 years under successive Labour & Tory Governments & Councils.
He has helped Simon Hughes & Susan Kramer as a campaigns manager for the Local Lib Dems in the mayoral campaigns. And led the organisation of general election campaigns locally.
A strong campaigner who is not afraid to speak out for the rights & concerns of Local People, and who will put people first in the thinking of his policies, giving local residents more power and say in the way the council is run, as well as creating well managed services, cleaner and well maintained streets, bring in better examples of recycling that has succeeded elsewhere.
It is time for the real alternative, a time for change, we can and will do the same for Enfield Council if not better by learning from successful Liberal Democrat Councils, and by making this a borough too be proud of.
